Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Information

Located a scenic 12 miles north of Jackson Hole Wyoming is Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the largest and most popular ski area in Wyoming. With more than 4,000-vertical feet of varied terrain, this ski resort in Jackson Hole draws expert and beginner skiers and snowboarders alike from around the world. Situated at the base of the mountain is the Teton Village, better known as the Village. At the resort and in the town of jackson, there are great slopeside hotels for Jackson Hole lodging, jackson hole hotels, rental condominiums, rental homes, restaurants, groceries, storage lockers, a skating pond, child care, dogsled tours, ski rentals and many more winter activities, as well as summer activities.

With an average annual snowfall of 450 inches, the powder at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is usually deep with minimal lift lines-except for the busy holidays. First opened in 1965, the Mountain Resort has slowly become one of the most renowned ski areas in Wyoming and the Western United States.

LOCATION:
Teton Village, Wyoming is 12 miles northwest of the town of Jackson on Highway 390 via Highway 22.
It is also only five hours drive northeast of Salt Lake City, UT.

MOUNTAIN CHARACTERISTICS:
• Terrain: 2 mountains, Apres Vous and Rendezvous
• 2,500 acres of in-bounds terrain
• Vertical drop of 4,139 feet (greatest continuous rise in U.S.)
• Base elevation: 6,311 feet/1924 meters
• Summit elevation:10,450 feet/3185 meters
• Uphill capacity:12,096 skiers per hour
• Open backcountry gate system accesses over 3000+ acres

• 50% expert
• 40% intermediate
• 10% beginner

LIFTS:
• One aerial tram
• One eight pax high speed gondola
• Two detachable quad chairlifts
• Four fixed grip quad chairlifts
• One triple chairlift
• One double chairlift
• One magic carpet

SNOW: 459" (38.25 feet; 1166cm; 11.6 meters) over 10 yrs

SNOW MAKING: 160 acres of snowmaking coverage.

TEMPERATURE: Average temperature is 21 degrees Fahrenheit in the valley.
Temperature inversions caused by warm air rising and cold air staying on the valley floor will raise slope temperatures by 20-40°

SNOWBOARDING: Snowboarding is allowed on 100% of our mountain. There is a SUPER-pipe and a terrain park located under the Apres Vous High Speed Quad for both skiers and riders. See http://www.jacksonhole.com/info/ski.freeride.asp.

• Solitude Cabin Dinner Sleigh Rides- unique fine dining every night at a rustic log cabin set in the woods. Horse drawn carriages take guests for two separate dinner settings through a romantic tree lined route from the base of the mountain. Watch out for the moose!
